Monday, November 29. The day the world of weight watchers crumbled because of the dreaded new plan. That’s what that date has engraved in my mind. The world went from counting calories while keeping in mind fat and fiber to calculating based on carbohydrates, fiber, protein and fat. You can read the essentials of the new plan here. I’m interested in seeing how it goes on this program, it makes more sense and hopefully they will continue to focus  more on whole foods and fresh ingredients rather than pre-packaged and portioned frozen “nastomeals” as I call them. They’re so bad and the worse part is, you could make a dish with a larger portion that would be more filling and be fewer points. Oh well.

End Rant. 🙂 Yesterday was a good day. The new plan switches things up and doesn’t make anything boring! We also went for a run yesterday- first time in five days. We were very very worried but we got in a good 1.38 miles. It felt great and we’re going to go for a longer run tomorrow evening. The 5K is in 1.5 weeks. I’m really kind of nervous because we still haven’t run 3 miles in a row yet. I’m worried that my shoes are completely worn out and if I get new shoes now they won’t be broken in by then… Andrew says if I have to walk, it’s ok. I know it’s true, but I don’t want to walk. I want to run it. I’m really hoping my hip stops bothering me– I keep taking the meds, maybe they just take longer to be effective? I’ll stick with it and ice and heat and we’ll be good to go, I’m sure. I want to try to run a race a month during 2011 too. Probably get expensive, but totally worth it!

For dinner we had bowtie pasta with artichokes and homemade basil pesto. Along with the pasta we had a salad and some cut-up pineapple and mango. I love fruit. I can’t get enough of it. It is delicious and awesome. Short post for now- probably more later!
